The HSG Foundation

The “HSG Foundation” is an independent charitable foundation targeting the strategic development of the University of St.Gallen.

It developed out of the HSG Alumni Foundation in the year 2013 in order to strengthen the University of St.Gallen as a leading European business school in the global competition for talented students, creative young researchers and dedicated professors.

Focus on philanthropy
Complementing existing fundraising relationships, the work of the “HSG Foundation” focusses on philanthropic support. The term philanthropy is derived from ancient Greek and means love of humans; it covers every voluntary private action aimed at a charitable purpose. Donors desire to contribute to the well-being of society by facilitating an excellent education for the next generation – this includes outstanding teaching and research personnel, innovative programmes and student scholarships. With their commitment they secure the highest academic performances.
